“We are proud to welcome seafarers in the south as they become part of over 20,000 BSM crew on board different vessels around the world. As we celebrate this momentous occasion, we look forward to empowering more Filipino seafarers and inspiring future generations to pursue their dreams at sea with BSM as their preferred manning and career partner,” says BSM CSC Philippines President and Chairman, Chito Duran, in his opening speech.
The inauguration program was held at the new branch offices in Davao City. It was attended by BSM CSC Philippines acting General Manager, Captain Armando Santosidad, alongside guest officials and representatives from the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), DMMA College of Southern Philippines and BSM officers and crew.
Second Officer and former crewing manager Jo Ann Etcubañas heads the new BSM CSC Philippines branch office.
Mindanao, the region where Davao City is located, is home to nearly 36,000 registered seafarers, putting BSM in a geographically strategic position. Seafarers in the region now have more convenient access to a CSC when they apply or transact with BSM.
The new regional office in Davao City complements BSM's CSC network in the Philippines with its headquarters in Manila (Luzon) and branch offices in Cebu City and Iloilo City (both in Visayas).
