What to expect?

We offer two pathways under the Sea-Shore Programme, designed to support seafarers looking to gain shore-based experience:

Full-Time Transition Programme

For seafarers who wish to move into a permanent shore-based role but lack prior shore experience. This structured programme provides the necessary training and exposure, with the same benefits as regular staff.

We are committed to hiring at least one seafarer with no shore experience at each of our office annually!

Short-Term Contract Programme (Coming Soon!)

For seafarers looking for a temporary shore assignment, this option allows you to work on a contract basis for a minimum of three months. Food allowances and accommodations will be provided in line with the local economy, and you’ll gain valuable shore-based experience before deciding on your next step.

Regardless of the programme you choose, each role comes with tailored learning objectives, mentorship, and performance assessments by your team leader. Since these are shore-based roles with international collaboration, fluency in spoken and written English is essential. All BSM policies and procedures apply, ensuring a structured and professional learning experience.

At the end of your programme, you can either continue ashore in a full-time role (if available) or return to sea for another contract. The choice is yours!

How do I join?
