Chief Executive Officer
Ian Beveridge was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Bernhard Schulte in 2001 and on January 1st 2018 he additionally took over the role of BSM CEO. He began his service for the Schulte Group in 1991 at Eurasia Shipmanagement Company in Hong Kong, as Chief Accountant. Prior to this, he worked with Coopers & Lybrand in Johannesburg, leaving as Senior Supervisor. Ian holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

With the Schulte Group since 2012, Jeroen Deelen currently holds the role of BSM Chief Operating Officer, ensuring that BSM operates in the most efficient manner, in accordance with global and regional marine legislations and standards, achieving predefined performance and quality levels in all operations, whilst ensuring safety and security of the marine personnel.
Previously, Jeroen served as Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Gas Tanker Director and Project Manager within the Schulte Group.
Jeroen's career started at sea on heavy lift vessels and has since gathered over 17 years of experience on shore in various segments including new building projects for container, dry bulk, offshore, gas fuel supply and LNG carriers.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Maritime Operations (Deck and Engine) as well as a Master’s in International Shipping (Law and Finance).

Sebastian Graf von Hardenberg joined the Schulte Group in 2005. He served Bernhard Schulte as Head of Controlling from 2006 to 2009 before joining BSM Germany as Financial Director. Moving to Hong Kong in 2012, Singapore in 2014, Cyprus in 2015 and back to Singapore in 2018, Sebastian served as Executive Assistant of the CEO and Director Business Risk before being appointed to Chief Financial Officer of BSM in 2015. Prior to this, Sebastian graduated as a lawyer in Germany and gained financial and risk management experience while working for an audit company.

Sankar Ragavan, joined BSM in 2010, as Director, Information Technology, and was responsible for all information technology initiatives and software development projects in BSM. In 2015, Sankar took a new role as the CEO of MariApps Marine Solutions Pte Ltd, a Bernhard Schulte owned Marine Enterprise Digital Solutions Company based in Singapore, with offices in India, Cyprus, and Germany. Before joining BSM, Sankar had senior IT positions in Jumeirah Hotels, Dubai, TV Guide, Sapient, IDP, General Motors, Commerce One, and Aerotech in USA.
In 2018, Sankar was appointed Chief Digital Officer of the Schulte Group and was nominated as member to the BSM Board.
Sankar graduated with a Master’s degree in Management Information System from Eastern Michigan University and a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI), Philadelphia, USA.

Yiannis Sykas was appointed as Chief Strategy Officer in 2023.
Based in Cyprus, he joined BSM in 2008 and served as the Deputy CFO.
In 2015 he was appointed as Director of Product Development and Strategy and was nominated as a member to the BSM board in 2018.
He previously worked for KPMG, Moore Stephens and PwC in the field of assurance and business advisory with shipping as his industry focus. Yiannis has a degree in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from the University of Liverpool and an MBA in Information Technology Management from the University of Leicester. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Bjoern Sprotte joined BSM as Chief People and Sustainability Officer in 2024. Incorporating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies into all HR activities for both shore and marine operations is a fundamental component of BSM's approach to achieving long-term, sustainable growth.
Bjoern came from V.Group, where he acted as the chief executive officer of the ship management business. Prior to V.Group, he spent four years in various senior roles at OSM Maritime, including serving as CEO. He began his career at Rickmers Group, where he rose from nautical officer to CEO of maritime services over a period of fifteen years. He then moved to the position of Vice President at Carnival Maritime, where he was responsible for the development and delivery of ship management strategy.
Bjoern holds a Diploma in Engineering and Qualification as Navigational Officer / Master as well as a Master of Business Consulting.
He is based in Cyprus.

Elena Pantazidou joined BSM in 2010 as Director HR and is based in Cyprus. Elena is a certified Business Executive Coach, a Life Coach and a Chartered Occupational Psychologist at the British Psychological Society.

Eva Rodriguez was appointed in 2018 as Director – Fleet Personnel. Eva’s main responsibilities are the oversight of human resource needs of the seafarer population employed by BSM worldwide. She entered the Organisation in 2003 and continued her professional development within Bernhard Schulte (BS) and BSM. In 2008, Eva joined BSM for the first time as a Senior Fleet Personnel Officer and by 2016 reached the level of Manager of HR Marine Strategies for BS. With over 17 years of experience in the maritime industry, Eva has obtained a deep knowledge both from the perspective of a ship manager and owner with specialisation in training, recruitment, marine operations and development of crewing strategies.

Eva Rodriguez Navia is Corporate HR Marine Director at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement and member of the Management Board. In her role, which she has held since 2018, she is responsible for all aspects of talent strategy, including employee experience, rewards, attraction, retention, training, development and diversity, inclusion and belonging for BSM’s rapidly growing global seagoing workforce of more than 25,000 seafarers. Eva and her team are focused on creating an environment where seagoing employees can thrive and flourish.

Capt. Frank Lasse currently holds the positon of Director - Loss Prevention, Safety and Quality (LPSQ). He has been with BSM since 2006, previously holding the roles of a Marine Superintendent, a Master with 11 years experience at sea and a Quality and Safety Manager. As Head of the LPSQ department, Frank is responsible for the safe operation of BSM's managed fleet and all compliances. Frank represents BSM at various industry related forums and committees, such as the Intertanko Vetting Committee, the Container Ship Safety Forum and the Informal Tanker Operators Safety Forum.

Khyati Sharma joined BSM in 2019 as Manager, Global Shared Service Centre. She moved on to take over role of Group Financial Manager before being appointed to Group Financial Director in 2024. Khyati is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Masters in Business Administration. Prior to joining BSM, Khyati was working in Governance, Risk and Compliance area in financial services sector. With over a decade of experience in finance and accounts, Khyati has cultivated a deep understanding of critical financial processes, specializing in process optimization and the digital transformation of finance operations.

Nick was appointed Director Fleet Management after fulfilling a variety of roles within BSM since he joined in 2009. Nick sailed for 13 years, achieving a senior deck officer position before transferring ashore, working as Shore Captain, Marine Superintendent and Safety Manager before joining BSM. As Director Fleet Management, Nick’s primary focus is the effectiveness and efficiency of ship management, including implementation of new regulations, the introduction of new tools and technology to support ship operations and constant review and improvement of working practices on board and within the fleet teams, working closely with LPSQ, Crewing and HR Shore to achieve this.

Simon Broadhurst has over 13 years’ experience in the shipping industry. He first joined BSM Isle of Man in 2009 as Financial Controller, having moved into shipping from the financial services industry. Simon continued to grow within the organisation, subsequently serving as Director in 2013 and as General Manager in 2019 following the successful completion of BSM’s High Potential Development Programme (HiPo). Simon is a skilled manager who has led the development of innovative contracting arrangements for customers and managed foreign branch operations to support customer needs. During this period, he has overseen the development and growth of key LNG, tanker and offshore clients. He is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and holds an MBA from Manchester University.

Martin Springer has over 15 years’ experience in the shipping industry and 10 years with the Schulte Group. He was appointed as the Head of Controlling in 2008 and was responsible for financing and treasury of the Group. Mr Springer played a critical role in the development of the first bilateral loan between a Chinese bank and a foreign shipowner. Subsequently, Mr Springer became Managing Director of the Trustee Company in 2013 and was responsible for restructuring the investor fleet. His subsequent appointment as Director of Business Development led to the Group’s expansion of services to the cruise sector and this is now his primary focus.

Andreas Solomonides was appointed Managing Director of BSM Cyprus in 2023. He began his career with BSM Hellas as Technical Officer in 2005. He was later promoted to Technical Superintendent and then Fleet Manager before he became Deputy Managing Director of BSM Hellas and Cyprus. During his time at BSM, Andreas Solomonides founded and continues to manage Hanseatic Maritime Advisory Services (HMAS) providing customised services and specialist technical consultation for any type of customer needs. Andreas holds a Bachelor of Science from the National Technical University of Athens and a master’s in business administration from the University of Leicester.

Nick Topham has been appointed as Managing Director of BSM Germany in 2018. Previously, Nick held the position of Technical Superintendent, Technical Manager and exited as Fleet Director at Borealis Maritime. Nick attained his Marine Engineering certification at the John Moores University of Liverpool.

Theophanis Theophanous, took office as the Managing Director of BSM Greece in 2008. Theophanis is vastly experienced in the management of oil and chemical tankers, gas, bulk, and container vessels. He has been in the shipping industry for over 30 years, starting his career as a seafarer and qualified Master class B. At sea for over seven years, his experience ranges across a variety of vessels including bulk carriers, oil tankers and VLCCs as well as a Loading Master in Cyprus tanker terminal for BP and Shell cargoes. After taking the decision to start his shore based career and prior to his current role, Theophanis joined the BSM Cyprus Fleet Personnel team where he stayed for 16 years, eight of which he fulfilled the role of Fleet Personnel Manager. Theophanis is a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy of Hydra, Greece.

Capt. Firoze Mirza took charge as the Managing Director of BSM Hong Kong in 2010. Leading the BSM Hong Kong full managed fleet from ten vessels since early 2011 to 50 vessels in less than five years, Firoze is vastly experienced in the management of dry and wet vessels as well as has good knowledge of Maritime Law. Trained as a Master Mariner and with a postgraduate qualification in Maritime Law, Firoze has been associated with the shipping industry for over 30 years. Starting his career as a seafarer, he served at sea for 15 years, four of which were as Master. Subsequently, he took on various roles ashore, based in Hong Kong where he has been living since 15 years. Firoze is a member of the Shipping and Transport Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.

Capt. Sanjeev Sharma joined BSM India in 2013, and took office of Managing Director in 2015. Sanjeev has more than 32 years’ experience in shipping, shipmanagement, business development, technical operations and human resources development. He started his career at sea in 1983 after completing a pre-sea training from India’s most prestigious nautical training ship ‘T.S. Rajendra’. He sailed on board various types of vessels, some of which were managed by BSM Hong Kong. After 1999, he moved to management roles ashore with Meiji Shipping in Tokyo and Neom Maritime in Singapore rising to the position of Chief Operating Officer, before returning back to India in 2013. Sanjeev is a Master Mariner and an active member of the Indian Council of Arbitration as a shipping expert.

Capt. Raymond B. Peter, SIARB, took office as Managing Director of BSM Singapore in 2018. Raymond is vastly experienced in the management of oil and chemical tankers, bulk, container, gas and offshore vessels. He has been in the shipping industry for over 32 years, including 13 years at sea. Raymond served on board NOL (Neptune Orient Lines) and exited as Master Mariner for AET (American Eagle Tankers). Having gained experience both in ship owning and ship management after moving to shore, he was also provided the opportunity to work with Class ABS, ISM, ISO, also attaining experience in auditing. Prior to his current role, Raymond was the Deputy Managing Director of BSM Singapore. He is a member of the Nautical Institute of Malaysia and Singapore and is a part of the DNV-GL, ABS Technical Committee, Shell Focus Group for the Asian Pacific Region and Intertanko Gas Committee for Asia Pacific.

Martin Roolvink has been appointed as Managing Director of Pronav Ship Management beginning of 2019. Martin is a qualified Industrial Engineer for marine transport and shipmanagement and has over 10 years of experience in the LNG industry. During this period, he has been in charge for the commercial operations and technical management of large LNG Carriers with different cargo containment systems as well as with both steam and diesel propulsions. Furthermore, Martin has been involved in the development of LNG projects as well as in LNG tanker chartering.
