Course Description

This course is aimed to improve the knowledge of BSM officers, holding COC who have been designated with the responsibility for safe operation and management of any BSM vessel. The aim is to become familiar with the contents of the BBS manual and its implementation onboard the vessels.

Course Content

On successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of safety culture onboard a vessel
  • Understand the relationship between behaviour and safety
  • Implement a Behaviour Based Safety system onboard and improve safety onboard
  • Understand the process, Plan and conduct Behaviour Based Safety observations
  • Document and report BBS effectively
