Course Description

This course is designed for BSM Senior Officers

The aim of this course is to refresh seafarers (Senior Officers) with the BSM Environmental Policy, Environmental regulations and BSM specific requirements related to environment as given in Environment Management Manual of BSM Safety Management System.

Objective

On successful completion of this course the delegate will refresh with:

  • Environmental Policy and speaking up Policy.
  • BSM Environmental Compliance requirements
  • OWS CCTV and Tagging requirements (Seal log)
  • Control of Hoses, flanges and portable pumps
  • Reporting non-compliance of Environmental Regulations and company procedures
  • Importance of operation, maintenance and testing of OWS, Incinerator, Sewage Treatment Plant, Ballast water treatment systems, EGCS and other pollution prevention equipment as stated in EMM.
  • Importance of maintaining the ORB, GRB, ERB, ODS, Biofouling and other records (Legal ramifications and consequences of incorrect entry into the record book)
  • SEEMP Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 requirements in brief
  • EU ETS / Fuel EU Maritime requirements in brief
  • Local regulations related to environment (Specially US requirements)
  • Understanding of waste-stream management
