Course Description

The aim of the course is to improve the knowledge of deck and engine officers in understanding current marine environmental protection requirements and practical steps in maintaining and improving day-to-day environmental performance on board the vessels. The course is designed to comply with the requirements of the MARPOL, ISM Code, and TMSA including other international and specific local requirements for marine environmental protection requirements.

Course Content

On successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to;

  • Understand and execute the duties/responsibilities of the environmental officer
  • Implement BSM Policies and Environmental management system
  • Implement international marine environmental protection requirements
  • Communicate and train the crew in environmental compliance
  • Report and document incidents, prevent reoccurrences
