PAL foundation - Senior Officers

On successful completion of the course, participants should be able to operate the PAL in performing their day-to-day shipboard tasks pertaining to:

• Introduction to PAL with its System Overview, Features, Functions and System Administration
• Certification with all related activities
• Crewing (Crew list, Seafarer Profiles & and its activities, DOA, Appraisals, CMS, Incidental Expenses, Illness and Injury, Drug and Alcohol Test and Onboard Training)
• LPSQ (Audit and Inspection, Unsafe Act/Condition, Near Miss, Accident, Risk Assessment, Work Permit, Management of Change, Shipboard Meeting, Drills, Periodical Review, Activities)
• Maintenance (Equipment details, Trigger Job Order, Storage Location, Tank Inspection Summary, Log Breakdown Job, Defect List, Log Running Hour Counter, Mount/Dismount, Report Job Order, Mooring Rope Checklist, Inspection Calibration Record, Tech Form Overview, Incinerator Operation Data log, TEC 005- Monthly Running Hours, Claim Creation, Change Log Report, Postponed Jobs, Circulating Equipment tracking, Maintenance Analysis, Equipment Query, Job Overview, Spare Query, Survey Report, Claim Report)
• Payroll with all activities and reports
• Purchase (Item Template, Create Requisition, Approve Requisition, Goods Receipt, Stock Control, Cash PO, Reports, Crew/Owners/Charterers Account, Month End Provision, customer satisfaction Survey, Month End-Bond, Document and Circulars, Transaction Log, Purchase Transaction, Stock ROB and Base Report)
• Use of application software QDMS Wiki
• Replication of all activities
• Sea Roster (Activities, Administration, Report)
• Voyage (Add voyage, add port call, log voyage activity, China MSA Report, Reports, General Query, Consumption Summary, Performance Overview, Activity Tracker, Reefer Damage Report, Container Damage Report)

Senior Deck and Engine Officers with background in basic computer operation.

Classroom / Online

Combination of lecture-demo with hands-on practice and structured exercises that are focused on practical application onboard. A computer unit is made available for each participant. Remote access to the PAL system.
