Course Description

The course is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the officers and ratings responsible for the operations of Tender boats and Zodiacs onboard a passenger ship. The course provides tender boat operator an understand of their role responsibilities towards safe operation and maintenance of tender boat and develop necessary skills for safe maneuvering of tender boat in various environmental conditions and situations. This includes the understanding of navigation procedures, emergency procedures and various safety aspects of passengers.

Course Content

Successful completion of this course with enable participants to:

  • Understand the duties/responsibilities of the Tender boat operator and the safety of passengers
  • Understand the Tender boat operations manual and other BSM procedures
  • Understand the safe launching and recovery of the tender boat
  • Understand various navigation procedures, collision regulations, Navigation marks/Tides/ currents/ wave effects
  • Understand and apply skills necessary for the Safe maneuvering of tender boats in various environmental conditions including emergency situations.
  • Effectively Communicate with passengers
