Extended BSM Orientation - Officers

Course Description

This course provides an orientation to all new joining officers and existing officers as per need towards the structure of the company and usage of QDMS and will enhance the knowledge of culture and behaviour to prevent accidents. The course also provides fruitful guidance on maintaining company standards and alleviating the standards of attendees to the next level of professionalism.

Course Content

Successful completion of this course will enable participants to:

  • Understand and appreciate the company’s heritage background and culture.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of QDMS wiki software
  • Correctly search and use required content from company manuals.
  • Demonstrate correct drill procedures within the requirements of the company.
  • Appreciate the importance of hygiene, and cleanliness and uplift their current performance.
  • Demonstrate the importance of the human element towards safety culture.
  • Address the importance of behaviours towards safety.
Entry Standards

All new joining officers and existing hands as per need.

Teaching Method

Instructor delivers remote training.

BSM’s QDMS, LPSQ reports, SOLAS, MARPOL 73/78 & Annexes and various Maritime Circulars and Codes

Assessment

Initial assessment and Summative assessments (End of course).

Certification

Attendance certificate on successful completion of assessments.
