Course Description

This course aims to familiarize engineer officers with fuel management and impart an understanding of the IMO 2020 regulations to achieve compliance with industry guidelines.

The course will help candidates appreciate the challenges faced while using a wide variety of fuels and measures to avoid operational difficulties.

Course Content

Successful completion of this course will enable to candidates:

To understand regulatory IMO requirements.
To understand company-related procedures of fuel management.
Demonstrate knowledge of fuel chemistry and properties of fuel.
Demonstrate understanding of engine manufacturer mitigation measures.
To understand the effects of Lube oils with new fuel types.
To appreciate alternative technologies.
To successfully identify fuel-related concerns at an early stage.
