Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) is one of the first international ship managers to be ISO 27001 certified. The certification covers the information security management systems protecting all information and information systems pertaining to ship management operation. While the ISO 27001 certification is not a regulatory requirement for third-party ship managers, it is the international standard of best practice to help organisations improve their information security for areas such as data security, risk management and business continuity. By incorporating ISO 27001 standards into the group's policies and procedures, BSM is committed to protecting the assets and data of its customers and partners beyond the legal requirements. As BSM continues to digitalise and automate its operations, the ISO 27001 certification puts the company in a good position to ensure cyber resilience and meet existing and future compliance requirements of international class and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
