This course is designed to provide advanced training to Senior Navigating Officers working on vessels in polar waters and meets the requirements of the STCW Convention, as amended, Table A-V/4-2 and The Polar Code.
Provide advanced knowledge of the limitations and safe techniques required when operating vessels in ice conditions and cold climates. Gain a detailed understanding of the regulatory requirements, safe planning and vessel operations in polar waters. Provide simulator based exercises of handling different types of vessels in ice conditions.
On successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to:
Chief Officer/Master rank. Completion of a basic level course under STCW A-V/4-1, 2 months approved seagoing service at the management level on vessels operating within Polar Waters.
