Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) has appointed Andreas Solomonides, currently Managing Director of BSM Cyprus, to lead the integrated Ship Management Centre BSM Cyprus and BSM Hellas. The change will take effect on 1 January 2027.

Bringing BSM Cyprus and BSM Hellas together under one leadership will strengthen collaboration across both locations and make better use of their combined capabilities. Customers will continue to work with their existing contacts and benefit from the same services and local expertise.

“Andreas brings extensive operational experience, a deep understanding of both organisations and a strong commitment to our customers. His appointment provides clear leadership for BSM Cyprus and BSM Hellas while preserving the trusted relationships, services and local expertise our customers value. Having worked closely with both businesses throughout his career, he is well positioned to lead the continued development of our operations in Greece and Cyprus,” said Sebastian von Hardenberg, CEO of BSM.

Originally from Athens, Solomonides joined BSM Hellas as a Technical Officer in 2005 and has since held several senior roles, including Technical Superintendent, Fleet Manager and Deputy Managing Director of BSM in Greece and Cyprus. He also founded a maritime advisory service, providing customised and specialist technical advice.

Theophanis Theophanous, Managing Director of BSM Hellas since 2005, will become Non-Executive Chairman of BSM Cyprus and Hellas. “In this role, Theophanis will support a smooth leadership succession. I would like to thank him for his outstanding contribution over more than two decades and for his continued commitment to BSM Cyprus and BSM Hellas. He has been instrumental in establishing BSM Hellas as a trusted partner to customers and an employer of choice in Greece and achieved phenomenal growth and quality of service delivery in certain key vessel segments, especially in LNG,” von Hardenberg added.
